I’m looking forward to graduation for a number of reasons but what I’m most excited about is my grandma’s gift, my wiener dog, Johnson.. And I cannot wait to go on his first shopping spree at Tails in the City!

Fall walks..

Rainy days..

Feeling a little wild..

Happy Halloween.. Or to scare surfers 🙂

Trick or treating..

Valentine’s Day..

Feeling smart..

Happy hour..

Merry Christmas..

Waiting for Santa..

Finding his feminine (but tough) side..

Sweet dreams..

New Years Eve..

Again, to be clear, I am NOT a seasoned sailor.. In fact, I’ve never even been sailing, but I figured new city new sport. Good thing I can charter a vessel and captain and enjoy Lake Michigan safely.

Looks like a ton of fun to me!

*Thanks Medicine Mon for the great video 🙂

11. Chicago Park District Golf

April 20, 2010

To be clear, I am not a seasoned golfer.. I bought my first set of clubs this past summer and have yet to play a full nine holes. But I do love the game, especially the adorable outfits and the snack cart, obviously 🙂

My boyfriend Jon, however, is an amazing golfer and often doubles as my coach.. Bless his heart, as I can get a bit cranky on the course from time to time (again, until the snack cart rolls around that is).

Well, come June both of us will be relocating to Chicago and I cannot wait to take on a new course, I think.. Driving range at least. Lucky for me, Chicago Park District Golf includes a variety of courses, a driving range, putt putt, a learning course, a golf academy, and lessons all in the heart of the city!

Looks like it’s time for me to update my wardrobe!

I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce you to the love of my life: THE CLASSIC BURBERRY TRENCH

This weekend I spend an hour in Newbury Street’s Burberry with the fantastic John, who understood even more than I how much I truly need this trench. Its classic lines and ridiculously comfortable yet form fitting fabric make my heart melt, literally. Even more, I look beyond chic and actually imagined myself trotting off to work in Chicago next fall or walking with Johnson (my famed wiener dog) along Lake Michigan as the leaves fall around us.

Among the countless other designers I lust for along The Magnificent Mile, Burberry seems to be at the top my list (as of now, that is)…

Take a break and enjoy the view…

Up first: Matisse

I briefly studied Matisse in my Humanities class sophomore year of college.. I absolutely adore the colors, and in fact, created my room’s decor around them.  The deep purples and reds fascinate me most and I cannot wait to use them to paint my new Chicago apartment.

8. Soldier Field

But don’t tell anyone! Or at least don’t tell my fellow Cheese Heads 🙂

Soldier Field- home to the Chicago Bears- was renovated in 2003 for multi-purpose event use, but as #8 on my list it will be visited as the former, the home to the Bears.. And now you know why you have to keep it a secret.. So shhh!

My love of Wisconsin extends far beyond my unquenchable thirst for cheese, and so, to bring myself to attend a Bears game (a game not against the Packers, that is) in Chicago will take plenty of courage..

And so a great source of motivation: snacks, of course! More than half of my motivation to attend sporting events (other than my cute date, that is :)) arises from the variety of snacks in one location: beer, nachos, hot dogs!, cheese fries, pickles, hot cocoa and more! A cute date and great snacks.. What more could a girl want?!

So this season, hopefully before below zero temperatures encroach on the Windy City, I will attend a Bears game (and not against the Packers) at Solider Field.

Wish me luck that the smell of cheese and brats doesn’t give me away as a Cheese Head!

7. Shedd Aquarium

I absolutely LOVE aquariums.. In fact, when I was younger I dreamt of becoming a marine biologist! Of course, I’m glad my PR instincts kicked in but I often imagine how different my life would be if I followed this underwater dream. So clearly, one of my first sights to see once I land in Chicago is the Shedd Aquarium, specifically the beluga whales 🙂 Although I’ve been to the famous aquarium before, it was years ago and I barely remember the excitement.

In order to prepare, a few videos… Enjoy!

Side note: I think I will look into aquarium PR!

*Thank you Shedd Aquarium for providing such a fascinating YouTube channel!

One of my FAVORITES, Nicole Richie, spotted at Lou Malnati’s!
